  • Facebook Censorship

    Facebook is censoring Vegans

It’s become more and more frequent lately that when Vegans share videos that show the truth of what is happening to the animals as a result of people buying and eating animal products, Facebook will either block their posts or ban them. Yet at the same time Facebook is full of advertising of animal products because any company can just pay Facebook to show their ads.

Now on the one hand it may seem like regular users can’t complain. After all, Facebook is a free service and so we are under their rules which they call “community standards”. However when a person can not use social media to talk about what matters most, it defeats the point of the website.

Is Facebook for just irrelevant chitchat that makes no difference in the real world or is it acceptable for people to use it to promote what really matters? Everything depends on the answer to this question.

Suppose I stop using Facebook and just stick to other outlets like Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, or WordPress. Even if I do, suppose those sites also follow the example of Facebook and ban accounts which share information that society doesn’t like?

How far does this go? Will someone be banned for their views on politics, religion, or lifestyle choices? Is the internet going to be the place where we have freedom of speech or will we be forced to give up entirely on the internet as a means of reaching people with our message? If so then where do we speak?

Let me tell you, people DO NOT listen to me in real life when I explain why I am a Vegan. They ask me but then I tell them and they still don’t get it and just throw back excuses for their behavior and tell me I should eat meat or that I should have a “cheat day” where I eat cheese because “nobody will know”. Or that eating eggs is okay because “free range”, or they talk about how they like the taste of bacon.

And I tell them the names of good documentaries that explain everything and give them links but do they watch them? No. Instead they just bring up the issue to me in person and attempt to argue with me at work, which is the only place I have interactions with humans.

In fact I don’t go around at work telling people I’m a vegan. They are always the one to bring it up! “Aren’t you going to eat chicken?” “Why don’t you eat ice cream?”, or some other comments like that. When I tell them I’m vegan they say “Oh, I didn’t know that! What made you change?” So I tell them and they look at me in the most repulsed way. Then they go on living their life as if nothing has been said. The only difference is that my hatred of humanity grows every time as a result of the ignorance and selfishness I see.

So no, I don’t bring it up in the world outside of the internet because I’m too sick of people’s reactions. So I generally share things related to veganism on the internet because it’s the only place where I can say something and they people choose whether or not they read or watch. The internet is therefore less threatening both to me and others than the “real world” is.

Yet that doesn’t stop them from banning my friend Poffo repeatedly for the things he has shared on Facebook. So I’m getting really annoyed at this point and really considering what I’ll do about it.

This was brought to my attention recently because of Poffo being banned yet again for sharing a post, which ironically was already on a public Facebook page. His mother had to relay the message to his friends.

  • Pasta, Soy, and Protein

A response to those who ask where I get my protein. First, all plants have protein, second, when you eat large quantities of anything, the effects are multiplied. I can eat 1 pount of pasta in less than 30 minutes. When I’m really hungry, I can eat 2 pounds. That means that when eat this I will be eating somewhere between 42 and 84 grams of protein when I boil pasta, which I do frequently because it’s so dirt cheap. And there are many like this which add vegetables into the pasta. My advice to anyone is to eat like a horse to be as strong as a horse. My coworkers at Brillient and at Hy-Vee are my witnesses of my strength. They frequently ask me questions when they find out I’m a Vegan. If only they had the full picture.

And also, Soymilk is great for protein as well. There is the rumors about soy causing man boobs and this scares many off from soy products, but first, it doesn’t work, which is most unfortunate or it would be more popular than it currently is. Then all those who wanted big boobs would be buying more plant products that don’t kill animals. That would also have a bizarre impact on natural selection if you dig deep into that.

  • Internet at Home

I have Xfinity internet now! I have confirmed that my laptop, phone, and Nintendo Switch all connect to it! I have the xFi app on my phone that allows me to set the network name and password. This is cool because it means that anyone who tries to connect to wifi networks in this area will see my name in the list. They’ll probably wonder who I am if they don’t already know me.

But more importantly, now that I have home internet, this means that I should be able to do recorded talks with my Vegan friends again who I miss very much. It’s hard being the only one in your area who prefers not to murder animals. Too bad the Black Rose moved to Canada! The internet is the way for minorities to meet that would not otherwise!

It also means that uploading backups of my programming projects is also possible. I have plans with my Binary Bit Map format and I want to make my own graphics library for my personal use that is simplified to the point where drawing pixels, rectangles, or regular polygons is so easy that I can explain it to others. I would probably want to use an existing graphics library as part of one of the multimedia libraries like SFML, SDL, Allegro, or FLTK. Then my code can call the other functions and the possibilities will be endless.

  • FLTK

I can compile FLTK programs now. Here is the Hello World program. I have no idea how it works but if I spend months learning about it then maybe I could do similar things with it as I did SDL and Allegro. It’s probably overpowered for what I need since I mostly just care about drawing shapes to the window.

The reason I decided to try FLTK was because of Tiny Core Linux using it for its window manager. It’s smaller than other toolkits so theoretically it would be easier to learn.

  • Open Book

When I went through the EQUIP system for the government background check to get hired for my current job, of course they wanted to know absolutely everything. I left nothing out, even my name Chastity White Rose that I go by on my online accounts. I did mention being transgender on the comments for that form. I wanted to be sure that when I got my job that this was known. I didn’t want to be fired because they considered me mentally ill over it or something.

And there are of course there are non discrimination laws but as I was telling the HR manager. People DO discriminate and make up fake reasons why they refuse to hire people or fire them.

I keep no secrets. In fact my friend Poffo will tell you, I share too much information about myself at times.

But I also know how to not tell personal information about other people that I should not.

But as for me, I’m an open book. There is nothing that can’t be known about me from my YouTube channel alone.

But the only thing anyone needs to know is that I do the best I can to live my life, work my job, pay my bills, and avoid hurting anyone of any species. I’m Chastity White Rose, the Vegan Virgin.
