I have a checkerboard function/program that I wrote in C and have used as the foundation of my BBM library. I translated it into BASIC8 without much effort because drawing rectangles to the screen is trivial.

Here is a screenshot of what it looks like when run inside BASIC8.
What is particularly great about this program is that it uses several elements such as while loops,x and y geometry coordinates,and a 2 element list of colors which can be changed to make all of the squares of black or white into any color combination of RGB.
I discovered BASIC8 on Steam and it allows a similar programming environment to what QBasic was for me years ago. I was 14 and able to start programming simple things including drawing circles,rectangles, and triangles. Having graphics as part of the standard library was a huge benefit to me at the time and one that I sacrificed when I switched to C as my primary language.
But having BASIC8 could be a fun retro programming experience to allow me to relearn BASIC and perhaps even make games or cool animations with it like I do with my C programming except that I will already have a standard set of functions to save time and won’t have to translate most of my own BBM library into it.

Monochrome or Bilevel images contain only two colors, usually black and white. A single bit is usually used to represent a pixel. This means a single byte can store 8 pixels. For this reason, two color images are the smallest whether compressed or uncompressed.
However there are particular differences when it comes to conventions about how the bits are stored and what they represent. Some like PBM use the value 1 to be black and 0 to be white. Others can do it either way. TIFF tag 262 determines this in a TIFF file. BMP files use a 2 color palette which allows either 0 or 1 to equal any color, not just black and white. Personally I think 0 should be used for black and 1 for white. It makes sense to me but this is also an arbitrary choice which format creators disagree on.
PBM and BMP use the high bit to be the leftmost pixel. Others like XBM and the raw monochrome data that Imagemagick reads use the low bit instead. There are two ways of going about this. One is to use either right shifting or left shifting as you place bits into a byte, the other is to simply use one method and then reverse the bits in a byte before writing it to the file. TIFF has tag 266 that determines the rule of which order they are in.

Because of this, I have long been against all forms of vaccination. The current times we are living in involving the claimed virus Covid19 are tough on everyone. However, some of you may not be aware of what is really going on.
This virus is most likely a hoax. The swab tests are testing for genetic material which may or may not be found but does not mean that you have a deadly disease. If this was a real virus, they would test blood for it the same way as is routinely done for sexually transmitted diseases such as HIV and HPV. That is not to say there are no viruses floating around but nothing you should be concerned about more than the flu or other diseases contracted through sexual intercourse or consumption of animal products from factory farms which also have the potential to cause death but which have never been used as an excuse for shutting down the economy and causing people to die by them losing their jobs, homes, and health insurance. The government response to this fake Pandemic was inexcusable. Our leaders are idiots and I don’t care if I am killed for saying this because it’s true and most of you know it deep down but are too cowardly to speak your mind a play along.
Even if you believe that this virus is real, there is a much darker agenda going on here that you may not be aware of or even worse you may dismiss it as a conspiracy theory. There are people such as Bill Gates and others which have plans to force mandatory vaccines on us for purposes of reducing population through sterilization and also death that can result from such vaccines. Such things should never be happening no matter what pandemic is happening even if that pandemic was real and killing some people. People should be allowed to make their own choices when it comes to what enters their body. When you no longer can choose what food you eat or what is injected into you with needles against your will, you are living in a situation worse than death.
The amount of harm done to animals used in the production and testing of all vaccines is also inexcusable. Even if vaccines WERE safe and effective, I will not consent to this because I want no animal ingredients nor human fetal tissue injected into my body. This is a crime not only to those animals but also to those of us humans which live our life free of violence. To put such things into anyone’s body without their informed consent is rape.
I know that you will dismiss me as a conspiracy theorist and will not listen to what I have to say. Or you may disagree and simply not care. But I would not be able to sleep at night if I do not at least share this information while I am still alive and save some lives by people choosing to avoid these dangerous vaccines and fight back against this dark agenda by the puppet masters who are controlling our politicians and media. The lockdowns, masks, tests, and vaccines are all part of a plan to destroy us all.

I also encourage you to watch the first and second Vaxxed movies. These are also highly censored by those in power who do not want you to know the real harms of vaccination.

Not only will you help protect yourself from many dangerous viral and bacterial infections by eating plants instead of dead animal flesh and excretions but you will also be following the Golden Rule and not doing to these animals what you would never want done to yourself.

I fixed several warnings in my BBM code and now it compiles as either valid C or C++. I also began work on the first chapter of what may become a book. Each chapter will be a complete working C program that produces image files using my IO functions I wrote that depend on only the standard C library. So far it’s 6 kilobytes and in serious need of updated comments explaining all the concepts behind how my style of graphics programming works. But the goal is for somewhat experienced C programmers to learn the tricks of how to draw pixels where they want and produce graphics without relying on complex APIs like SDL or Allegro which require you to link to hundreds of functions when you can usually get by with less than 10 with custom code.
