  • Introduction to Chad

The following is a character description I wrote for my Literary Techniques and Story Development class. I got a bit carried away with the experience part and then constructed a huge conversation between 4 characters.

    Character Description

    Name: Chad

Physical Description: Chad is 25 years old and looks like a stereotypical white American. He has short blond hair and blue eyes. He is also larger and more muscular than other men his age with very large and strong arms.

Personality Type: Chad is quite competitive and is proud of his achievements both in physical sports as well as games of skill like Chess and Shogi. He is very adventurous and takes risks that are not safe, but he always has the strength or intelligence to get out of any mess he finds himself in. He has many friends that he plays sports with and a Golden Retriever dog which he named Gold General after a Shogi piece.

Chad’s Fear: Chad has a secret that he worries people will find out about. He conceals his fear through his confident facade of always being the winner. He can get anything he wants in life, but he fears losing his friends and family if they ever find out what his secret is.

Chad’s Love: Chad loves animals, especially his dog, Gold General. He is Vegan and does not hurt animals because he sees them as having unconditional love. He believes that a dog really is man’s best friend.

Chad’s Dislike: Chad dislikes attending church with his parents because he finds it quite boring. He doesn’t really want to sing in front of people or listen to the pastor preach about things he doesn’t care about. Although Chad doesn’t enjoy church, he goes every Sunday so that his parents won’t think he’s a lost heathen. He believes in God but thinks sitting around and listening or talking about things is a waste of time.

Chad’s Experience: Chad played soccer one Tuesday afternoon with three of his friends. He was on Matthew’s team, and they were playing against Luke and John. Chad and Matthew beat the other team 15 to 5, with Chad scoring 12 of the goals. After the game they all ordered Pizza from Sarpino’s and then talked about their lives. They all had a debate over what the sermon was about on the previous Sunday.

    The conversation went like this:

Matthew: Hey Chad, we sure had a good game. I know I wouldn’t have won if I wasn’t on your team.

Chad: Hey Matt, don’t be so hard on yourself. If you would like, I could help train you to kick the ball where you’re trying to.

Matthew: Thanks Chad! By the way, what did you think about the sermon on Sunday?

Chad: Can you remind me what it was? I wasn’t paying any attention. I just go so my dad doesn’t say I am not a Christian.

Luke: I remember it. Pastor Mark was reading from Romans chapter 1.

John: That’s right, it was about idolatry. People created things that they worshipped instead of God, who created those things.

Matthew: I don’t remember that part at all. I was talking about verses 24 to 27, where it says God gave people over to their sexual desires. What do you guys think that was about?

John: I guess it’s about people who make their sexual desires an idol that is more important than God. It’s all part of the same thing, really.

Luke: No, it’s not that at all. Clearly, it was talking about homosexuals and how their desires are so sinful that even God has to give up on them and leave them to live out their sins.

Matthew: So does that mean that if someone’s desires are sinful, God has abandoned them?

Luke: Who cares? It’s not like any of us have anything to worry about. We are Christians, and we are straight, exactly like God intended us to be!

John: Especially you, Luke. I know you were looking at Stacy the whole time. Maybe she’s your idol.

Luke: Hey I’m just appreciating God’s divine art!

Chad: Watch out, Luke! Stacy is the pastor’s daughter! Get too close, and you’ll still face the wrath of God!

Luke: Better worry about your sins, Chad! You have the sin of greed because you take all the girls.

Chad: I can’t help it. They all come to me. Maybe I can send some your way, and you can leave Stacy alone.

Luke: I see how it is! The real reason you come to church is also to have a chance with Stacy.

Chad: Yeah, you caught me! You’ll have to beat me in sports first before you fight over girls with me.

    Luke: Fair enough, Chad!

The four friends continued to talk about many different things as they ate pizza and laughed. Chad felt a little bit sick inside that he lied to his friend Luke. The truth is that he pretended to be interested in dating Stacy because he didn’t like the way Luke was talking about Stacy. She was just an idol to Luke, and Chad agreed with John. He also noticed that Matthew had gone silent as the other three talked for the rest of the night. He decided to talk to Matthew about it more when the two of them were alone. Something was not right, but he didn’t know why.

  • Prostitution: The Great Debate

I saw the saddest post on Instagram of a trans woman who said, “idk if I wanna spread my holes every day anymore just to survive”.

And I knew what she meant. You see, the problem is that since so many transgender women are denied employment, they turn to “sex work” as a way to pay the rent and bills and buy food. They are forced into a life of sexual slavery because they are discriminated against and can’t get regular jobs like cisgender men or women can.

And, of course, in many places, prostitution is illegal. Some want to legalize it because this is how they make their money. However, as a transgender woman and a celibate, I not only don’t agree with the legalization of prostitution, also called sex work. I have my reasons for this, which I will write about here.

First, the idea of sex work is a form of allowing yourself to be raped. You may say that it’s consensual because you have agreed to do something for money. The problem is that you are saying that money generates consent. If money generates consent, then literally all anyone has to do is give money to anyone that they have raped, and all of a sudden, it is a consensual agreement! But how much money is required? This idea opens up a huge list of problems and undermines consent.

I don’t buy that idea. Maybe my opinion doesn’t count for much since I’ve never had sex, but I know that sex is not the same as a regular job. It comes with the risk of sexually transmitted diseases and unwanted pregnancy. No, it’s not the same as being a stocker, sacker, or cashier in a grocery store. It’s not the same as running a business with actual products that you create and sell. Doing those things doesn’t give you STDs or get you pregnant like sex work does.

Second, to call prostitution a normal job is an insult to all people who do work that takes actual effort and talent. Sure, you may put some effort into it, but it’s not something that you will be proud to put on a resume because it’s not experience that qualifies you for any other job. Don’t compare it to work that takes serious mental and physical strength, like the jobs I have done.

Third, the presence of so many trans women in the sex industry is giving people the idea that transgender women are all sex objects to be used or that they are, by nature, extremely sexual. Many people think only of pornography when they see trans people because that’s the only place they have seen them before. For this reason, I don’t approve of prostitution or pornography because it further damages my reputation. I am tired of people asking about my private parts or asking me if I “suck dick” or “take it in the ass”.

Because of transgender women in the sex industry, people assume that I am like that. I am not, and I will not be silent as you wreck my reputation.

Fourth, there is one more problem with prostitution: it feeds the abortion industry. The majority of the people doing sex work are going to be straight people, and the unwanted pregnancy that results will just be an obstruction to business. I believe that the sex industry is behind the legalization and promotion of abortion.

So the interesting thing is that pro-life laws will affect the sex industry because those women who make a living off prostitution will no doubt not be able to do so the same way.

I imagine I am not the first person to make this connection, but I have never written about it before. I think it is something that needs to be part of the discussion on abortion. My position is that prostitution is never ok. It’s understandable when it is the only way to make money. Still, it’s not ethical or consensual, nor is it something a pro-life person should have a favorable view of because it only keeps the abortion industry making tons of money as they are paid to kill babies that will result from the sex trade and pornography.

  • Anastasia’s Birthday

On August second Anastasia was born
This person was a rose who had a unique thorn
They were made by God to be a voice
For the oppressed and abused who had no choice

Anastasia was not quite a woman or a man
But they can do things no one else can
    They are non-binary and intersex
I understand that they are quite complex.

But what’s important is that Anastasia is kind
They have a good heart and a powerful mind
    Anastasia is Vegan and Pro-Life
They work for peace where there is strife

Anastasia looks good no matter how they dress
Their brilliance can be seen when they play chess.
Like me, they are a person of the Rainbow
I thank God that Anastasia is someone I know

Their favorite music is by Taylor Swift
On Anastasia’s Birthday I want to send a gift.
So even though my words could be misunderstood
I want Anastasia to know my intentions are good

I love you Anastasia, in a special way
And I hope this poem doesn’t sound too gay
But regardless of what you think of me
Your kindness and beauty is something that I see

I follow you and I support your work
And I will reply if someone else is being a jerk
If there is anything I can do for you, please ask
Because like you I can do almost any task

I feel so limited and wish I could do much more
And I am sorry if the things I say are annoying or a bore
This poem is my gift to you straight from my heart
And maybe you have ideas of how I can assist you with my art

And now I leave to work my Walmart overnight shift
And I will think of you like always as I listen to Taylor Swift
I wish you health and happiness as long as you shall live
So please accept my tiny gift that’s all I have to give

  • A Love Story: Darkness and Light

I saved the best for last with this song! This song is the 8th and final track in my album “Chastity’s Chess Challenge” as a tribute to the chessboard having 8 rows and 8 columns. However, none of the lyrics are about the game of chess!

    OR ARE THEY?

You see, this song is a love story between darkness and light. Many years ago, I wrote the following poem:

    Hikari and Yami Love Poem

I’ll tell you a story, both black and white. Of darkness who loved the light.
And light loved the darkness, but when the light came near, the darkness would disappear.

H: Why do you run when I appear? What is it that you fear?

Y: I have no fear it’s just the way. I rule the night, and you rule the day.

H: I want you with me in the day. There must be something to make you stay.

Y: I cannot stay; it is a rule. Whoever made it is a fool.

H: This makes me sad and want to cry. I won’t give up till we die.

Y: Do not cry, only shine. For I am yours, and you are mine.

H: For you, I’ll shine, and nature rewrite so that darkness can coexist with light.

Y: Shine brightly, Hikari, for in the night, the smallest candle gives those who are lost sight.

H: And you, my Yami, stay as black as you are and know that I am never far.

For those who are confused by the poem, Hikari is light in Japanese, and Yami is darkness. If those are the only Japanese words you know, then that is enough.

The poem was written in 2018 but it wasn’t until I discovered Artificial Intelligence can make music that I tried to turn the poem into a song.

This song reminds us that light and darkness are not enemies, except in the game of chess where when they must battle. But then again, don’t even lovers fight sometimes?

Maybe the game of chess is light and darkness trying to checkmate each other and finally catch up to each other so that they can be together.

If you think about it, every time a white piece goes to a square occupied by a black piece, the black piece leaves. However, the reverse is also true. Light and darkness are chasing each other and are the oldest lovers in existence. The dance of the chess game could be how like and darkness dance with each other.

Finally, I will end this post with the lyrics of the song. They are also in the description of the YouTube video above as well.

    Darkness and Light

    [Verse]
I’ll tell a story in black and white
Darkness loved light through the night
    When light came close
    Darkness went away
In love they stayed but couldn’t play

    [Verse 2]
    Shadows long and whispers low
Light would come and darkness’d go
    Seeking balance side by side
    Heartbeats race but worlds collide

    [Chorus]
    Darkness and light
    They wanted to be
    Together forever
    But never could see
    In the presence of one
    The other must leave
    Yet heartstrings they tugged
    In dreams they believed

    [Verse 3]
Light would shine and darkness’d fade
    Seeking ways shadows played
In the twilight they would meet
    Their love story bittersweet

    [Bridge]
    Echoes in the night
    Hands that never touch
    Yearning deep inside
    They missed each other much

    [Chorus]
    Darkness and light
    They wanted to be
    Together forever
    But never could see
    In the presence of one
    The other must leave
    Yet heartstrings they tugged
    In dreams they believed

  • FF6: The Legend of the Magic Lost

The context of this album is based on the events of Final Fantasy 6.

By giving AI text written based on events from the game, I have created original music that is very accurate and should be appreciated by fans of this game. It was the best Final Fantasy game in my opinion because of story and music.

    https://chastitywhiterose.bandcamp.com/album/ff6-the-legend-of-the-magic-lost

The following are the 3 songs included and a little bit about each of them.

    War of the Magi

Before the events of Final Fantasy 6, we are told that 1000 years ago there was a war between humans and espers and that the world was burned and in ruins. Much time has passed since then and there is a human society but not much is known about who the espers were.

    Terra’s Journey

You need to play through Final Fantasy 6 to appreciate how accurate this song is about Terra’s search for identity. Her father was an esper and her mother was a human. For this reason, Terra is the “Best of Both Worlds”. Because she is “More than One thing”, she was born with Magic and is the only human alive who uses magic without stealing it from other espers like the Empire does.

For this reason, the story of Terra from this game matches my own gender identity of being both male and female at the same time. Like Terra, I have fabulous secret powers. She is the video game character who represents me. But it’s not just that, the entire story depends on her because without a human-esper hybrid to bridge the gap between humans and espers, the empire would never have been defeated and Kefka would have forever killed people with his powers stolen from the goddesses.

    Half Esper Half Human

This song is based on the events of Final Fantasy 6 after the final boss, Kefka is defeated. Terra has a conversation with her father, Maduin, who explains that her human side can remain in the world even though magic is disappearing because the goddesses and Kefka are destroyed.

But Terra’s love for her friends and the children she has adopted after their parents were killed is what keeps her alive. Her esper side died that day but she is the “girl who lived”.

    Locke’s Quest

Locke is a treasure hunter who is commonly called a thief. He says there is a huge difference between the two. Whatever he may be, he is good at sneaking around to avoid detection by the empire and he protects his friends like Terra and Celes who are both fugitives running from the empire. Together with other friends, Locke plays a part in destroying the empire and falls in love with Celes, who was once a general of the empire and now works against them.

    Underground King

Edgar is the king of Figaro but he is as sneaky as his friend Locke. He is a master of machines and created his castle so that it can go beneath the sand. This saved the life of everyone in the castle when Kefka set fire to it.

    Power only Breeds War

The lyrics for this song were partially AI created but then I made some edits to be more accurate to the game of Final Fantasy 6. This song is meant to be sung by the character, Celes.

Other than Terra, she is the only one who can use magic at the beginning. But her powers are not natural and were forced on her through experiments done by the empire to create a super race of humans with esper powers. This is a lot like surgery done to babies in the real world to force them to be what others want them to be instead of letting them be the way they were born.

And in the game, Celes says she wishes she had never been born. That’s why I wrote some of the lyrics to reflect that. This hit me emotionally because that’s something I used to say too. But I know better than that and that God has a purpose for me here.

I guess you could say that I heavily relate to Celes just like I do Terra. As someone who has played Final Fantasy 6 on the SNES, Nintendo Switch, and the Pixel Remaster on Steam, I know the story of this video game more than ANY other video game I have played in my 37 years of life.

    Final Notes

I know that this album requires people to understand the story of Final Fantasy 6 to a good degree to appreciate the lyrics of the songs that I worked hard at getting just right. Even with AI, there was a lot of failures that didn’t make it into this album. For those who will never play the game, I recommend the following video which covers the entire story in less than an hour.

Considering that it can easily take 10 to 20 hours to play through the game, I definitely think you should see that video and decide if you want to play the game. If you like RPGs then you won’t be disappointed!
