  • Emotional Self Defense

I have a habit of holding onto jobs and supposed friendships because of fear. I let myself be abused too long at my job with Hy-Vee and I have let other people abuse me when I really didn’t need to but because I have very few friends and think that I am somehow the Princess of Friendship like Twighlight Sparkle who can resolve any friendship problem. However, I am easily deceived into thinking someone is a friend when their behavior later reveals they WANT to hurt me. I have been very emotional this week over some recent and not so recent events that have left me feeling hopeless about many things.

I want to share a video I recently recorded while on a walk to work because it is especially relevant to what I am about to say about setting boundaries.

I am feeling better now than I was when I recorded this video but at the time I was in a very bad mood after my phone call with the EEOC. It looks like there will be no justice to stop Hy-Vee from abusing employees and defending sexual harassment. I tried to let that go and move on but having to talk about the entire situation and whole series of events that led me to resign at Hy-Vee to avoid an abusive store manager, leaving aside a different employee who was sexually harassing me.

But the larger problem I have is setting boundaries with abusive people. There are some people who cannot be reasoned with no matter what I say because they live just to cause pain and fight.

I try to educate people about Veganism and Transgender people for the purpose of stopping violence against animals and LGBT people in general. But what I can’t do is fix stupid and hatred. What I need is emotional self defense skills. I need ways of handling people who are trying to hurt me.

    For example:

Recently, Sovereign Lazarus was calling me a pedophile, accusing me of “using lesbian as a slur” and “pro-plop” for being Pro-Life. In this case my solution was to block her on Instagram. I don’t need this person in my life and I don’t even know them well enough for it to matter.

And Monique Lukens, my former cohost of the Celibate Vegan Voices is not someone I want to deal with either. She has accused me of lying about being asexual, having a gay relationship with a friend in England, and being a drug addict like someone who uses heroin or cocaine because I take estrogen and I am “Going against God for changing my body”. In the past, she also accused me of being a sellout because I wore a mask as required for my job at Hy-Vee during 2020 and 2021 during Covid.

I am already struggling enough to work my full time job, do online school with Full Sail University, and trying to find time to eat, sleep, and work on my computer programming which I am getting very good at recently. I will not hesitate to block people who want to keep criticizing me for how I live my life. But you know what the worst part is? More than half the times that people are hating me, it is because of false accusations and assumptions that are not even close to being true.

One thing different about me is that I make it extremely easy for people to get to know the real me. It’s not like it is hard when I have published so many books and have so many blog posts and videos on social media. But clearly some people are not interested in knowing who I am and what I care about. For people like this I will cut them out of my life.

But I also don’t like to cut people off without giving the reason why. Too often I let people keep abusing me and I don’t say anything because I know they will do it more if they know that it bothers me. If I don’t set a boundary, they win and keep abusing me. If I do set a boundary, I feel like they win because they know that have the power to upset me, but at least I can prevent some future abuse from the same person.

Emotional self-defense is a skill that I can improve on just like I do at playing Tetris or Chess. One of these days, I will win.

  • Words with Friends: Best 11 letter word

This post will be about the highest scoring word I ever played in Words with Friends on Facebook. The game allows up to 11 letter words because of the size of the board.

Below is a picture of my profile on Words With Friends. You can see that my highest scoring and also longest word is quizzically.

The reason that quizzically scores so high is because it has a Q and two Z letters. These letter score high. However, you will need to use a blank tile for one of the Z because there is only one regular Z as far as I know.

I have only played this word once and I doubt I will get lucky enough to do it again, but for this post I want to do some theory and explanation on this word.

    First is the definition:

In a quizzical manner; as if puzzled or asking a question.

The fact that it is an extension of quizzical means that quizzical is also a valid word.

In fact, there are quite a few sub words of quizzically:

    quizzical
    quiz
    ally
    call
    all
    al

These 7 sub words are important because it is impossible to play an 11 letter word in 1 turn. It will take at least 2 turns and quite possibly more. The best bet is to start with a smaller sub word and place it at a location on the board that would give it enough space to still be built into the entire word.

Below is a picture of the game board:

To get the highest possible points would also require placing tiles on 2 Triple Word Score spaces. This can be done but it would require starting with the middle of the word with the sub words call or ally and then building from there.

As seen in the first image in this post, I got 378 points for playing just this word, however it might be theoretically possible to score even higher with it if it was placed in a better position.

Let me know if you have ever managed to play this word! It is a rare sight to behold!

  • Chaste Panel Update

I have made some incredible updates to my third puzzle game, Chaste Panel. In the first place, save states are added. This means this is the first time a Panel de Pon clone has been made that allowed players to save and load the game at any time.

Another important change is the messages on the right side of the game screen now show which key is being pressed. This includes the save and load messages. The reason this was so important to add to the game is that there are times when streaming or recording a game where the terminal text is not shown. I always see it as the developer, but other users who are on Windows typically don’t even run things at the command line. I also want the right side text to function as a way of instructing other people how to play my games.

I made a long video where I show how I updated the game.

In the future, I will probably have some more short demo videos on my TikTok and Instagram that show some cool combos that can be made with this game.

  • Chaste Tris 1989

Chaste Tris 1989 is the latest Tetris game I have created. I keep remaking the same Tetris game, but this one is different for a few reasons.

    1. The blocks are randomized like the original Gameboy, as you might notice in my demo videos.
    2. The playing field is 18 squares high, just like the Gameboy version.
    3. The game can load blocks that look similar to the Gameboy. It doesn’t require the images, though. If the files are deleted, it will simply use black squares to display the blocks.

The game is dedicated to the year 1989 when the Gameboy and NES Tetris games were released. It’s also no coincidence that 1989 was the year that my friend River was born. River was a massive inspiration to me and got me playing Tetris again in 2021 when we lived together.

Taylor Swift was also born in 1989, and that’s why she made an album with the same title. I would also like to dedicate this game to Anastasia for turning me into a swifty.

The point is that 1989 was a great year. In 1989, I would have been two years old, and I was playing Super Mario Bros. on the NES, which our family had. Who could have guessed that video games would become such a massive part of my life and that 34 years later, I would be making my own Tetris game dedicated to that year?

  • Tetris: Infinite T Spin Triple

There is one method that results in higher Tetris scores than even ST Stacking. It is the TST or T Spin Triple Loop. It has a Hard Drop page that I have been studying.

    https://harddrop.com/wiki/Infinite_TST

Here are a few images from that page which I will be using to help me achieve this in Tetris games.

The image above shows that there are multiple ways to build this looping pattern. The images under the text “right side” are the way I prefer to do it. Most online videos show the “left side” method.

This image is relevanr because it shows that it is possible(though very risky) to build 3 T Spin Triples in that specific way but continue the loop. This means that if someone is extremely lucky with the order of blocks received in guideline Tetris, they can do the most devastating combo beyond anything else possible in all of modern Tetris! I will be using this information in my own Tool Assisted Speedruns!

The following video is one of a complete 200 line Marathon using ST Stacking. My score was 1,553,676. This is an extremely high score because only T Spin Doubles and Tetris clears were used. This resulted in maintaining the Back to Back bonus.

    Tetris DS ST Stack Marathon

I have not completed a marathon with using only T Spin Triples but when I do, I will update this post to compare scores! It is important to use the same game and number of lines to see the difference.

However, I have succeeded in using the infinite TST up to 150 lines in my own game, Chaste Tris.
