Missouri Native American Tribes

I was doing research on which Native American Tribes existed in Missouri. This is important for the story I have not finished. I needed a tribe name for a Native American man who tells stories to children.

If there are any Native Americans who can tell me about their tribes as they used to exist in Missouri, I would appreciate the information so that my story is accurate historically.

Unfortunately, most of them were wiped out in the Indian Removal Act of 1830.

I found it quite interesting that the Federal Government does not even recognize the tribes. But I can’t be too surprised because when you have a habit of killing people or taking over their land and forcing them to relocate, you don’t typically learn about their history and culture.
